Service

Mercedes Brakes & Suspension Repair in London

We replace Mercedes brake pads and discs, calipers, wheel bearings, control arms and suspension bushes using genuine or OEM parts — and we service the SBC electronic braking system on W211 E-Class and W220 S-Class where it is still fitted.

Brakes & Suspension
Price: Brake pads from £189 per axle (OEM). Typical time: 2–4 hours

Good brakes are not optional. On a Mercedes they also need the right pad compound, the right sensor on the right wheel, and — on some W211 / W220 models — an electronic brake (SBC) that needs periodic service on Xentry.

Pads, discs and sensors

We fit OEM or genuine Mercedes pads and discs, replace the correct pad-wear sensor for your axle, and reset the wear indicator on Xentry so the light actually goes out.

SBC service (W211 / W220)

The SBC system on late-model W211 / W220 requires a periodic bleed and a specific Xentry service routine. Done properly, it is fine. Done wrong, the brake pedal goes to the floor.

Suspension

Lower control arms, anti-roll bar links, bushes, top mounts — we replace only what is worn, and we align the car afterwards (not everyone does).

Frequently asked questions

  • My Mercedes says "Brake pads worn". Do I have time to drive?

Yes — the sensor warns before pads are dangerous. But book in within the next week. Running past that point risks scoring the discs, which turns a £189 job into a £500+ job.

  • How often should Mercedes brake fluid be changed?

Every 2 years, as part of Service B. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and old fluid boils under hard braking, which is exactly when you need it to work.

  • What is SBC and does my Mercedes need the service?

SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) is an electro-hydraulic brake system fitted to late W211 E-Class and W220 S-Class. It requires a periodic Xentry service and occasionally a hydraulic pack replacement.
