The W221 Airmatic system: brilliant, costly, inevitable
The W221 S-Class (2005–2013) was the first S-Class to use Airmatic DC (dual control) air suspension as standard, combining air springs with adaptive dampers. Always check the struts for leaks when replacing the compressor — a new compressor will fail quickly if it has to compensate for leaking struts.
4. Valve block failure
